Hearing a voice from inside urging me, “Go! Go now…” I bolted from my room this Christmas day morning off to see the famous Goddess Temple of Tillai Kali only to be greeted on the very steps of the temple by members of Appa’s family who just happened to be there. It was perfect lila, the play that defies every explanation. The darshan, the seeing of Amman, the Mother was equally astonishing. Sometimes India brings you to places that defy credulity.
